The Commission shall meet once per month, except August. Special meetings may be called as required.

The Tourism Commission currently has 13 occupied positions, and quorum is 7 members.

The mandate of the Tourism Commission is to:

a) Work to develop Vernon as a tourism destination through collaboration between Tourism stakeholders, Council and Administration.

b) Assist with increasing Vernon’s market share of travelers to and within British Columbia.

c) Increase Tourism-driven economic benefits to Vernon.

d) Identify and provide recommendations on programs and services that will enhance the Tourism sector in Vernon.

The term length for members is 2 years, with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms.
